This association’s Board Executive Committee was composed of the CEOs of the 12 largest companies in this $100B industry. The President of the association wanted this group to participate in a highly effective strategy development process. To do this, he needed the assistance of someone who knew the industry, knew the Board members, could surface the right agenda items, and could lead this group through a process of consensus building as appropriate.
The Solution
- Conduct 1:1 interviews with top association executives and each of the Board Executive Committee members to identify the decisions the Board should be addressing.
- Work with the President of the Association and the Board Chairman to shape the agenda for a two-day off-site retreat, and develop materials to frame the decisions to be made, the options, and recommendations.
- Facilitate the meeting and complete follow-up notes and meetings to ensure implementation.
